Affiliate disclosure
Short version: some links here earn us a commission, it costs you nothing extra and nobody pays for a recommendation.
The short version
HawaiiTravelers is funded by affiliate commission. When you click certain links on this site and go on to book something, the company pays us a small percentage of that booking. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone direct.
This is disclosed in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines. Every
affiliate link on the site carries a rel="sponsored nofollow" attribute, and any
article containing them says so before the links appear.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
What we do not do
- We do not sell placement. No company can pay to appear in a guide or itinerary.
- We do not run sponsored posts or paid reviews.
- We do not let partners see content before it publishes.
- We do not recommend something we would not suggest to a friend planning the same trip.
Where a free or cheaper option is clearly better, that is what you will read, even when there is no commission attached to it. Plenty of the best days in Hawaii cost nothing and we say so repeatedly.
Who we currently work with
These are the programs that may pay us a commission:
- Viator, tours and activities
- Shaka Guide, self-drive audio tours
- Vrbo, condos and vacation rentals
- Hotels.com, hotels
- Expedia, flights, hotels and packages
- Orbitz, flight and hotel packages
- Amazon, gear and packing
- DiscoverCars, car rental
- Discount Hawaii Car Rental, car rental
Everything else we link to pays us nothing. Where we recommend a company we have no commercial relationship with, that is what it is: the best answer we have.
This list changes as programs come and go. If you want to support the site without booking anything, forwarding a guide to someone who is planning a trip helps just as much.
Accuracy and liability
We research from official sources and update guides regularly, but conditions in Hawaii change constantly. Reservation systems, closures, surf conditions and volcanic activity can all change without notice. Always confirm details with the operator, park or agency before you travel, and treat everything here as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
